what's in your closet?
Giving you a sneak peek at the layouts I created for my next myStampBOX post. I scheduled it tonight for next week sometime, so you'll have to check out their blog EVERYDAY to see it AND the layouts.
I'll give you a little hint: one of the themes given to me was "Colour Combos" and I chose to give it a little "fashion" twist.

Next week I want to introduce you to a new company. I just received a BOX-FULL!!!!!! of product from them today and will be b.u.s.y. next week creating, creating, creating........woo hoo. There's some yummy stuff in there!!!

deck the halls
Feels like Christmas around here because these showed up in the mail today!!!!!!
Today I received a box with not 1, not 2, but 8 stamp sets from myStampBOX. Woohoo..........what ever will I create tonight?
Ron didn't quite "get" my excitement; my "oogling" over my new stamps; my drooling & caressing tendencies while I looked at them on the couch in front of him. So.......I led him to the kitchen island, layed a stamp pad infront of him, handed him a stamp on an acrylic block and told him to find out for himself...............

............didn't get the same reaction that I gave, but at least he touched the stamps and "played" in his own way. Way to go, babe!!!! Thanks for humouring me. :)
I'll show off the stamp sets I received in the next few posts -- with some projects, of course.

old school technique
Just showing you the layout from the sneak peek yesterday. But, instead, I want to walk you through how I created it.
I used this cute, little basket weave with strips of pp to create my background -- so old school, but lots of fun.......again. It's a little tricky trying to keep all the pp from sliding around the cardstock and moving, so I adhered the lhs of the strips directly to the background cardstock. I could then just start weaving my different strips "over & under" to create the basket weave.
When my strips were all in place, I straight-stitched around the entire thing with my sewing machine. I didn't have to adhere anything else yet, as the weave was just staying in place (thanks to the little glue dots I used on the first strips).
Then, I trimmed my pattern paper strips, adhered them to the background & added my 2x2 inch matted photos.
Here's the sticker journalling tag that I trimmed around, matted with a coordinating cardstock & pop-dotted in onto the layout. It's actually covering up my hand, which was resting on my husband's shoulder in this photo. **Looked a little weird -- just a hand sitting there {lol}.

Some embellishments, a title & voila: you got yourself a layout.
