a big secret

I can only imagine that most of you (if not all) can recognize these incredible products from a totally inspiring & talented company.

Well... Prima Marketing Inc. is going to be telling us all a pretty big secret very soon. I have my guesses -- but I'll have to wait as well.
Head on over to their blog to check out all the incredible (and overwhelming) treasures that their design team & guest designers create for us to drool over. It's so delicious!!! It always brings out the girlie in me. :) I just spend my share of scrapbooking $$ on some pretty amazing Prima flowers & trim for a project that I am working on for a client. Love it all!!!
Just wish there were some Prima Classes that were coming to Manitoba that I could take -- hmmmm, Trisha. Where are you?

as promised

Here's a little peek at the {not so} mini album I did on about family vacation to Costa Rica. I used one of those photo albums that you just slip your photos into......you must know the ones. No page protectors; just these little photo mats that you slide your photo behind. I think I picked it up at a bargain shop some years back for 5 bucks or something. So happy I finally was able to use it for a project. Knew it would be cool.......someday. :) I added the Hambly transparency on the front b/c the cover was already somewhat transparent to begin with. Love the rings on the spine; makes it so easy to handle and flip through.

Hope you enjoy.
so excited it's done {from the farm},

snap to it!!!

Does anyone have photos sitting on their computer from a holiday they took 3 years ago that are needing to be scrapped so that those incredible memories don't fade away into the unknown? {i'm raising my hand}. Can you say "disney; 2007; the whole family"?

In the interest of remembering our fabulous family vacation this past january, I am already getting started on a cute, little album of Costa Rica -- filled with all our favourite photos.

Not done yet; but here's a little sneak peek:

have a great day {from the farm},

for the love of the game

We've had an incredibly busy few weeks .... all hockey related. how fun!!
First, Carter's Novice Hockey Team played a game last Saturday, with the proceeds all going towards Cancer Awareness. All the players (and coaches) wore pink -- jerseys, hats, feather boas, etc. -- for a great photo shoot before the game. They raised over $600 for Cancer and had a blast doing it!!! Thanks to everyone who helped out during the day.
Then, this past weekend our family spent all day on Saturday at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg. Carter's team played on the ice in the afternoon against a team from the city. It is always a hoot to watch your child play in such a great arena -- their eyes are "this BIG" as they look around at everything and score in the same nets that the Manitoba Moose score on. **Notice that Carter still has his pink tape on his stick from last weekend (Cancer Awareness game).
LOVE this one of him looking on from the bench.

A total different perspective of the game.
And here's Caelan (Carter's best buddy & partner-in-crime-on-defense). I always get a GREAT photo of Cale -- his eyes always light up in a photo (even behind the helmet cage).

enjoying some Olympics these days {from the farm},

a few scraps to share

Wanted to share just a few of the creations that I've been playing with lately..... been playing with a lot of "left-overs" lately {little things sitting on my desk -- within reach}. love this!

Amour: a little layout about the love of my life.
Lots of layering and adding some texture from scraps on my desk. love these quick and easy pages.
Up a Tree: love the little owl i created on the branch -- made from scraps of pp, some buttons & a little bit of stampin'.

The top 3: a favourite "proud mommy" moment in my life when Daria was one of 3 who received top marks in her grade 5 class last year w/ a gpa of 95.5%. All I can say is "wow"!!! I never studied THAT much!!!
A close-up of the cool trees made from some scrap pp.

Once upon a Time: love this Alice in Wonderland-inspired layout -- love how Asha seems so lost in her book AND lost in a fantasyland of flowers.

The flower are actually made from scraps of tissue paper and mod podge; dried; then punched out. I used strips of ribbon for the stems and Magic Mesh for the leaves. The title is hand-written with watercolour pencils & a blending pen.
11 @ 11: I've been holding onto this photo for a while (one of those ones that you just don't want to screw up -- you know the one). Another layout with tons of layers, dimension & texture.

'09 Hockey: okay......this layout has actually been sitting on my stack "to do" since.....ummmm.......last spring (right after hockey season ended). Wow -- finally got it finished. Feels good. All the little "things" added to the layout were in my "better-keep-it; might-staple-it-on-somewhere-someday" stash on my desk.
I created the layout so Carter's hockey card could flip -- name & number on the front ...

... the team photo & Carter's stats on the back.

enjoy the weekend!!!
